Wall insulation with the PUR foam

Insulating the interior walls of a house yields multiple benefits. Depending on the circumstances, it can often be one of the ways to guarantee the thermal comfort of residents. The superior properties of the Purios polyurethane systems can provide comfort and safety where other means fail. The unique way in which the polyurethane foam is applied fits perfectly with the requirements of cold and damp properties.

    • Very good thermal insulation
    • Retains shape and volume
    • Protects the walls

Dedicated Purios products

A warm and dry house is ensured by insulating the walls with the Purios system

What is the polyurethane foam wall insulation?

The PUR foam wall insulation is applied by spraying two liquid components of the Purios system. Under the right conditions, foaming occurs during the application of the components, so that the liquid material expands 30+ times and transforms into foam. A uniform, airtight and adherent layer of foamed polyurethane creates a thermal insulation material whose properties precisely match the needs of buildings requiring additional insulation.

Why are the Purios insulation systems effective?

Above all else, they are characterised by their excellent insulating properties, therefore reducing heat loss effectively. The unique structure of the PUR foam fills the slots in the partition, therefore eliminating thermal bridges and ensuring even temperature distribution.

Why are the thermal insulation systems recommended?

Our polyurethane foam system solutions are recommended by experts assessing the suitability of building materials used for reducing thermal energy consumption. The better insulating properties mean lower costs for heating the house. Thanks to the Purios foam, a house can become energy efficient

Advantages of the Purios insulation systems

    • The favourable thermal conductivity coefficient helps keep temperatures at a similar level throughout the year.
    • The Purios open-cell systems are lightweight; therefore, they do not add weight to the building partitions.
    • The closed-cell foam also has the additional function of stabilising the building structure due to its high rigidity
    • The Purios spray foam does not damage the walls and does not need to be tampered with or disturbed.
    • The uniform and seamless polyurethane foam layer prevents the formation of thermal bridges.
    • The properly reacted polyurethane foam is safe for your health under all conditions.
    • The spraying of the Purios insulation systems is very efficient: 200 m2 can be insulated in only 1 day
    • Superior quality is assured for at least 25 years.

Why use foam wall insulation?

There are multiple benefits to insulating walls with the polyurethane foam. The PUR foam is characterised by its high insulation efficiency, which effectively reduces heat loss. Its rapid application and ability to fill slots eliminates thermal bridges and prevents cold air from the outside in winter and warm air from entering in summer. Thanks to better insulation, energy demand is reduced, which results in lower bills. The foam is also moisture-resistant, reducing the risk of mould.

Why are Purios systems effective wall insulation?

Purios

Purios

Insulating interior walls can improve thermal comfort in the home in several ways. It allows only those rooms to be insulated where people actually stay. By spraying insulation material on the corridor walls, you can easily and effectively shut out the cold let in by the front door. You can also literally insulate yourself from the part of the house that will not be insulated for various reasons.

Purios

Traditional insulation materials interfere with the wall. The Purios insulation systems adhere perfectly to the sprayed surface, but it is possible to manually detach them from the partition without damaging it. In this way, the polyurethane foam not only protects the heat in the home, but also its walls, which can be of key importance in the case of buildings classified as listed buildings.

Purios

The unique way in which the polyurethane insulation systems are applied allows the entire job to take much less time than is the case with traditional materials. The Purios certified foam application specialist is capable of insulating up to 200 m2 of walls in 1 day.

Purios

The Purios foam retains its key properties for at least 25 years. These are fire reaction class, compressive strength and thermal conductivity coefficient, i.e. features that are decisive for maintaining long-term thermal comfort.

Purios

The Purios insulation systems are a group of high-tech solutions in the form of two properly composed liquid components. Depending on your expectations, they can be used to produce the open-cell or closed-cell PUR foam. The former is an extremely lightweight diffusion-open material that does not add any additional weight. The latter forms a rigid layer that provides excellent thermal insulation while stabilising and reinforcing the walls.

Frequently asked questions

The security of our solutions is of key importance; therefore, we conduct internal and external tests multiple times a year. They show that the PUR foam is completely neutral to humans and animals all year round and irrespective of temperature or other weather conditions. The fire tests also show a very high flame reaction class, which increases the safety of the residents and also aids fire extinguishing.

The effectiveness of thermal insulation is largely attributable to the density of the material. If a construction product slips, floats, compacts, deforms or otherwise changes its shape, it ceases to fulfil its most important function. In the case of polyurethane foam, we talk about dimensional stability that lasts for many years. The rigid or semi-rigid PUR foam retains its shape and density irrespective of the effects of gravity, moisture or other factors that affect traditional materials.

The diversity of polyurethane insulation systems is primarily due to the distinct properties of these materials. It is worth using the proper Purios systems depending on the type of wall. The closed-cell foam is usually recommended for partitions made of reinforced concrete, brick or other hard construction material. Wooden or lower strength walls are worth insulating with the open-cell foam.

If spraying the polyurethane foam is to ensure highly effective thermal insulation, the only option is to have the work conducted by a certified application specialist. The Purios systems provide great and long-lasting properties, but when certain guidelines are met during the wall application. The use of inappropriate equipment, incorrect parameters while spraying, inexperience and the use of low-quality or other products can prevent the expected insulation from being applied.

In all construction work, the final cost depends on several factors. As for wall insulation, the following main considerations must be taken into account:

  • the size of the area to be sprayed with foam,
  • the type of Purios system,
  • the complexity of the investment.
