Resin flooring

Resin flooring is a durable, decorative and highly functional floor coating that combines aesthetics with strength. It is a modern solution that fits perfectly with current architectural trends—smooth, seamless surfaces free of joints and grout lines. Resin floors are easy to maintain and offer virtually unlimited design possibilities.

What is resin flooring?

Resin floors are made from high-quality synthetic resins—most commonly epoxy or polyurethane—which, once cured, form a seamless surface that is resistant to damage and moisture. Thanks to these properties, resin flooring is ideal for use in residential spaces, commercial facilities and industrial environments, ensuring durability and an elegant appearance for many years.

Resin flooring systems are available as one- or two-component mixtures. Our offer includes exclusively two-component systems, in which the resin is the primary component and the second component is a hardener.

Resin flooring is created by applying a liquid mixture of resin and hardener onto the substrate, which is then evenly spread using appropriate tools. Depending on the area of application and individual preferences, thin-layer floors—applied with a roller—or thick-layer floors—poured and spread with a trowel or squeegee—can be installed.

The result is a smooth, exceptionally durable layer with high resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage. Resin floors are easy to maintain, resistant to moisture and chemicals and in anti-slip versions provide additional user safety. As a result, they combine functionality with aesthetics, serving as both a practical and decorative floor finish.

Properties and advantages of resin flooring

 Durability

Resin floors are characterized by exceptional durability, regardless of the area of application. They are resistant to moisture, heavy loads, mechanical damage, detergents and temperature fluctuations. Depending on the type of resin used – epoxy or polyurethane – the surface can be harder or more flexible, allowing it to be perfectly adapted to specific usage conditions. Thanks to this high resistance, resin flooring maintains its aesthetic appearance for many years, even in heavily used spaces.

Easy maintenance

Resin floors are seamless, meaning they have no joints or grout lines that typically collect dirt, as in traditional tiles. The smooth surface makes cleaning extremely easy—regular washing is sufficient, with no need for specialized cleaning agents. This makes resin flooring an ideal solution for those who value cleanliness and convenience.

Aesthetics

Resin flooring is available in various options—epoxy, polyurethane and stone systems. Each variant comes in a wide range of colors, allowing the floor to be matched to any interior style or outdoor project. Resin floors are suitable for homes, garages, technical rooms such as boiler rooms, staircases, balconies and terraces, as well as commercial and industrial facilities.

Safety

Resin floors combine durability and aesthetics with safe everyday use. Contrary to common misconceptions, these surfaces are not slippery. Resin flooring provides a safe walking surface and can be successfully installed in garages, on terraces and balconies—even in areas exposed to moisture, water and mud during the autumn and winter seasons. Resin flooring performs exceptionally well under such conditions.

Applications of resin flooring

Thanks to its exceptional properties, resin flooring can be used in almost any environment. Its key advantages include durability, moisture resistance, ease of maintenance and an attractive appearance. It is therefore no surprise that resin floors are increasingly being installed not only in commercial spaces but also in residential homes.

In garages, boiler rooms and technical areas, epoxy resin flooring performs exceptionally well. It is highly resistant to abrasion, pressure from vehicle wheels and the effects of detergents, allowing it to maintain its aesthetic appearance for many years. Contaminants such as mud, road salt, or grass that are often brought in on car tires can be easily removed—even using a pressure washer or a simple broom.

This is one of the most durable and commonly chosen flooring solutions for such spaces, combining practicality with a long-lasting, modern finish.

Resin floors, especially in the form of a so-called stone carpet, are an excellent choice for outdoor applications. They allow you to create an attractive, durable and weather-resistant surface for balconies or terraces, combining elegance with exceptional sturdiness.

Resin floors are also widely used in industrial and commercial construction. They are installed in production halls, warehouses, workshops, office buildings and shopping centers. It is on these types of surfaces—such as multi-level parking lots—where you most often encounter resin flooring, whose durability and resistance ensure safety and long-lasting performance.

Interiors finished with resin, especially seamless ones, impress with their modern appearance and functionality. Architects often use resin flooring in homes – in bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms and hallways, as well as on terraces, balconies and entrance areas.

How to install resin flooring?

There are many companies on the market that specialize in installing resin floors and you can also find them among our Partners. Purios also offers resin flooring in a DIY format. Ready-to-use kits include all the necessary components and tools, allowing you to install the resin floor yourself without hiring professionals.

This is an ideal solution for those who value independence, precision and the satisfaction of creating the effect with their own hands, while also saving time and the significant costs of professional installation.

Contrary to appearances, installing a resin floor is not a complicated process, but it does require precision and proper surface preparation. The substrate plays a key role in the durability and aesthetics of the finished surface. The floor must be seasoned (28 days), thoroughly cleaned, degreased and leveled to ensure maximum resin adhesion and in the case of professional application, it should also be primed.

The liquid mixture of resin and hardener is applied to the properly prepared substrate and then evenly spread using the appropriate tools. Depending on the desired layer thickness, a roller or a squeegee is used.

Depending on the type of material—whether epoxy, polyurethane, or stone resin flooring—various additives can be incorporated, such as decorative flakes or quartz sand. 3D resin floors, which are decorative, multi-level and multi-layered, are becoming increasingly popular. The graphic design placed on the floor is covered with a thin layer of transparent resin.

After the resin layer is applied, the curing process begins, lasting from several hours to a few days. The result is a durable, damage- and moisture-resistant surface that impresses with its aesthetics and performs perfectly in both residential and commercial spaces.
